Methods or Functions as reusable orchestration snippets Hot

by Vickie Ortega on April 01, 2015

Orchestrations can become very big and difficult to manage and maintain. You may find that you are repeating the same series of actions over and over in different orchestrations. It would be nice if the orch could be broken out into smaller logical pieces that could be re-used over and over across orchs.

We are currently working on an improvement to the Calculate step that should simplify orchestrations. Currently, each calculate steps has two functional properties; the expression and the target. We are modifying the calculate step so that it contains a list of expression/target pairs. You'll be able to combine existing calculate steps into a single one by using multi-select and a context menu. You'll also be able to split an existing multi-calculate step into separate steps.

While this doesn't provide the feature requested, it should simplify existing orchestrations, and I thought it worth a mention on this idea.

If I'm not mistaken this can be treated the same as the http://www.serenacentral.com/community/ideas/sbm/orchestration-being-able-to-call-another-orchestration - see my comment there, the solution can be provided in Composer only
